Craig Gault is an International Association of Arson Investigator – Certified Fire Investigator and an International Association of Arson Investigators – Fire Investigation Technician.

Craig Gault has been involved in the fire service since 1991. He initially worked as a volunteer firefighter before moving on to American Medical Response as a paramedic. In 1999 he joined the Portland Fire Bureau, rising to the rank of lieutenant in 2006. Craig then joined the Fire Investigations Unit in 2018. Craig has an extensive investigative history including serving 24 years as a reserve deputy.

During his tenure in the fire investigations unit he has investigated over 1000 fires including multiple large dollar loss fires, high profile serial and spree arson cases and arsons associated with civil disturbances. He has been the lead investigator or assisted in over 20 fatality investigations. Mr. Gault maintains affiliations with the International Association of Arson Investigators, the International Association of Arson Investigators Oregon Chapter 31, the Fraternal Order of Police.
